Affiliate Marketing and the Recent Google Slap

If you\’re using pay per click marketing and if you\’ve been doing so for any length of time you know that Google Adwords is really, the only game in town if you want fast, significant traffic. You\’ll also know that setting up a Google campaign is quite complicated due to the fact that Google has a number of rules that you\’re supposed to play by but they don\’t really make those rules obvious anywhere. As a result it is a challenging game to play.

Google also has a bit of a history for changing the rules of the game without any heads-up to their advertisers. This is often called the Google Slap. Back in the day you could just build a simple lead capture page and drive traffic to it using Adwords. Not anymore. Now Google wants to see some significant content on those sites so those site provide \”value\” to their visitors. This makes things especially tough for affiliate marketers.

It seems that Google has taken out the ruler and is slapping affiliates again. This time the targets are review-type affiliate sites. It is common practice for a site that is promoting an affiliate offer to write a review about the product they are promoting and then lead the visitor on to (hopefully) buy the product through what we call an affiliate link. This is simply a code that tells the vendor where the sale came from so he or she knows where to send the commission.

That was the deal but recently Google decided that they no longer like such sites. Actually to be more accurate they no longer like advertisers that use Adwords to drive traffic to landing pages or sites promoting affiliate products. It seems a strange decision by Google when one considers that most of the sales on the web are driven by affiliates and Google itself owns an affiliate network.

Nonetheless, what is done is done. What affiliate marketers must ask themselves now is how they can adapt to this new environment.

I can\’t speak for everyone but what I\’m doing seems to be working very well. To discover what that is please visit the link below.

Free Steps On How To Correctly Create Backlinks To Your Website

I have learned one thing about people who are in need of creating valuable backlinks to their website. You have to know what you\’re doing otherwise you could just end up wasting your time. Or even worse- messing your whole website up.

Many people say different rumors about what Google has to say in regards to linking campaigns for websites as a means to getting more hits.

There is so much info on the web in regards to this niche, that at a certain point you just kind of have to stand back and take in what makes sense, and leave behind everything that is just \”too good to be true.\” We have to market our websites in a way that makes it look good.

Even though you might read over 100 websites that say they have the \”answer\” to making it big on Google, you will never really know 100% what it is that Google wants from our sites. Because none of those people are the Corp. owners or SEO\’s of Google. And Search engines are constantly changing.

Blogs and sites that give you this information for \”free\” are simply sharing something that has previously worked for them. Meaning, it might not work in a few months… or it might. But you will never really know for sure!

Some of the things that you have to take into consideration when marketing your blog/website are: who exactly are you trying to reach out to, and what are the methods that you plan on using to do this.

The reason that on many occasions backlinks have worked so well for other people is really quite simple. Google love\’s popular sites. Always has and always will. More backlinks equals more popularity.

When people start a backlink campaign they are really trying to send Google a message, and that message is: \”Look Google, I\’m popular, so that means that I\’m really cool! You should totally put me on page one!\”

This is why I say and advice people that I\’ve worked with to VERY careful with this type of advertisement. Creating a backlinks for yourself is fine, but you have to do it in the right way, otherwise the consequences could be quite dire.

Take into consideration this hypothetical situation: Say that you\’re thinking about buying this really pretty cat that you saw the other day at a shelter home. Then suddenly on the same day, everyone on your phone list (all 133 contacts) call you to try and convince you to buy that dog. Wouldn\’t you be a bit suspicious about the situation?

Well it\’s the same with search engines. They want to see that you\’re growing popular, but they want to see that you\’re doing it in a natural and original way. Not doing something fishy to get up there. You must do it slowly.

It is known that sites that have grown suddenly popular over-night have been dropped from their index. They had to start over with a new site.

Creating backlinks to your site is the same as trying to get famous and popular. That is why you must do it the right way.

So always make sure that if you do decide to go into a backlink campaign, make it look as natural as possible!

As another added note, there are plenty of people out there who are willing to do the job for you. Some are expensive, but others are quite reasonable. Always make sure that you know exactly what will be done for your website.
