I have debated this post for some time. I am not sure how to even set it up but I will try to do it as succinctly as I can.  I get more questions about my work than anything else. Even complete strangers will come up and say, “So and So told me you work from home! What do you do?” Then I start to tell them and their eyes sort of glaze over and they give me that blank look.

There are a few things I do to make money online.

I work through a company called Arise. They are basically a head contractor or clearing house for outsourcing call center type work. They do inbound phone applications as well as chat applications. These may be customer service or sales. Typically the contracts are for large corporations that everyone has heard of! There are a number of companies that basically utilize the same model. I have worked through a few of them. In a nutshell I prefer Arise. If you want to work a lot normally you can. If not there are some contracts with a 20 hour a week minimum. Will you get rich? Hell no. You can keep your bills paid and your family fed though. Which is the point, right?  It is not big money. Not by any stretch of the imagination. It keeps us floating though! Sometimes they offer bonuses for referrals. If they do I will post them here and would appreciate the referral. They do have a cost for the classes and there is a fee for accounting each pay period. In a nutshell though I have worked through them since 2006. It is worth the money. There is no limit to how much you can make if you are willing to do the work.  If you had 2 people in your home under your corporation then you would be able to make a good amount of money! You do have to incorporate yourself as a business. I will be doing a new post about that process. It is something you can easily do yourself and save a boatload of money!  One of the benefits of being incorporated is you then qualify for many tax deductions you otherwise would not.  This will cross over and help with your affiliate sales which I talk about below. You can set up payments to be made to your corporation rather than you personally.

There are other ways I make money. One of them is through free Squidoo lenses. Basically these are little one page articles on Squidoo. They have spots where you can put affiliate links to items so that you make money on the items people look at if they link to products.  Also in their setup it pays you the more people view your posts! So if you have a lense that gets lots of traffic then you get paid for that traffic.  I learned all of this from PotPieGirl! She offers a product, teaching system called one week marketing. There is a link to it inside the free squidoo guide! I know her site looks sort of cheesy but she is an awesome teacher! I may actually do another post about the products that I have bought that work versus those that do not! If I do I will link to it from here.

The last way is through Affiliate sales. I have been doing research into affiliate marketingfor some time. Basically this is where you promote an item online. If you are an affiliate and people purchase the item then you get a commission. Often the commissions are small. However, the more traffic you get then the more sales and so on. Under this also falls Article Marketing, SEO optimization, traffic generation, and link exchanges. In a nutshell all of those things go back to selling products. If your pages are optimized in all those categories you will make more money! I wish it was as easy as just putting up a WordPress blog and people would come. It’s sooo not. Although I recommend blogging for everyone! You can see mine is all over the place. Basically because I am all over the place! Some people make them just for products or businesses. Some are personal, some are a mixture. I am as open as I can be about most things and basically you just never know what will show up here. That’s how I want it. I have other pages. I learned about all of these items through different sources. I will put the links in here. Basically I paid to learn but then the methods are all free methods. You should never have to pay to do web work. Unless you are purchasing hosting or website domains. Otherwise article submission, traffic generation, all of that is free. You just have to know how to do it. I do not intend to teach anyone. I will leave that up to the pros. Although I will sometimes post helpful tips or information. For the record for many items I am NOT an affiliate but I feel compelled to share things that work!
